Step 2: Assess Multi-Process Integration (Not Just Capability)

Many suppliers say they offer stamping, CNC machining, forging, and extrusion. Few can integrate them without bottlenecks. Integration is a game-changer for cost and lead time, because it eliminates secondary handling and re-fixturing.

In 2023, we had a part that required stamping then precision CNC milling. One vendor quoted 8 weeks—they'd stamp in one facility, then truck to a separate CNC shop.
